The Kansas City Wizards announced today that defender Shavar Thomas has been traded to the Los Angeles Galaxy for a 2008 conditional second round SuperDraft pick.

"Shavar (Thomas) is a consummate pro and class act," Kansas City Wizards Head Coach Curt Onalfo said. "We wish him the best of luck."

Thomas has been a member of the Wizards since 2004 and filled one of the Wizards Senior International roster spots. The 26-year-old Jamaican International played in 76 games for the Wizards over three seasons, scoring two goals and adding one assist.

After the trade, Kansas City now controls the rights to five picks in the 2008 MLS SuperDraft. The Wizards traded their natural second round selection to Los Angeles in December for goalkeeper Kevin Hartman. Defender Alex Zotinca was traded to Chivas USA in February for a conditional second or third round selection.

1st Round - Natural Selection
2nd Round - From LA for Shavar Thomas*
2nd/3rd Round - From Chivas USA for Alex Zotinca*
3rd Round - Natural Selection
4th Round - Natural Selection
