KCW Juniors Update: April 1
Three teams go 5-1-0 at Metro United Boys College showcase shortened by weather
Despite the unruly weather , the KCW Juniors U-17 and U-18 teams recorded shutout wins in all of their division games, while the U-16 team finished with a 1-1 record. Strong winds and lightning resulted in calling the first U-16 game 5-6 minutes short of halftime. Weather conditions worsened and all Sunday games were canceled.
KCW Juniors teams went 5-1-0 overall with a +21 differential. U-18 player Ethan Bauer lead all KCW Juniors players with five goals, followed by U-16 player Tom Adams, who scored three of the team's five tournament goals.
The Wizards first team takes on the San Jose Earthquakes Sunday at 2 p.m. CT in a match sponsored by Sprint that will serve as Kansas City's "Family Day." The entire team will gather at Dave & Buster's after the match for an autograph session, and 5,000 fans will receive the Wizards 2009 team poster courtesy of Sprint. Children will be able to ride mini horses, and inflatables will be set up on the concourse inside the stadium. The food and beverage special of the game will be $2 cotton candy and $2 pretzels.
