MLS:

2008: Started all 30 matches and totaled 2,597 minutes of playing time. Contributed 2 goals and 2 assists, including the game-tying goal vs. Chicago on October 5 and the game-winning assist at Chicago on April 20 in a 1-0 victory over the Chicago Fire.
2007: Selected in 1st round (3rd overall) of 2007 MLS SuperDraft. Won team Rookie of the Year honors after appearing in 29 games (27 starts) and recording 3 goals and 4 assists. Scored first career goal just 3 minutes into first MLS game.

NATIONAL TEAM:

Was one of nine original members of the U-17 Residency Program at the Bradenton Academy in Bradenton, FL. Played for the U.S. at the 2003 FIFA U-17 World Championship in Finland. Represented America on the U-20 team at the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in Holland under coach Sigi Schmid. Also spent time playing on the U-23 team. Was as an alternate for the U.S. Men's Olympic team at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

COLLEGE:

Attended the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill from 2003-2006. Was a second team All-ACC selection and an NSCAA/adidas All-South Region choice as a junior in 2005. As a senior in 2006, was a preseason finalist for the Hermann trophy, which is awarded to the top male and female Division I soccer players in the U.S.

YOUTH:

Member of the '86 ODP Region III Team from 2000-2003. Participated in the adidas Elite Soccer Program Camp in 2002. Member of the North Carolina ODP State Team from 1998-2002. Played with Raleigh's CASL Elite throughout youth.

PERSONAL:

Son of Malinda and Mike Harrington. Has one younger sister, Marybeth, 15. Majored in exercise and sport science at UNC. Devout Christian who values generosity, determination and gratitude. Enjoys listening to music (especially country), reading, playing poker and working on his golf game during his time off the pitch.
