MLS Experience
2005: Appeared in 16 matches including 13 starts, scoring a goal and adding an assist on the year ... Assisted on Chris Klein's goal in the 31st minute @ MET (4/16), his first career MLS assist ... Scored his first goal of the season in the 17th minute @ CLB (5/14), the Wizards first of four goals in their 4-0 win ... Suffered a quad injury vs. CLB (6/29) and lost his place in the Wizards lineup while recovering ... Battled his way back into the starting lineup @ MET (9/3) and retained that role for the remainder of the season.
2004: Played primarily as a defender through much of the season, but found success as a wide midfielder replacing the injured Chris Klein on the right flank ... Played on the right flank @ CLB (8/18) and has been very successful in joining the Wizards attack ... Shown a red card @ CHI (9/1) and did not play vs. MET (9/4) ... Started each of the final four games of the year and proved to be one of the most versitle layers on the team. Made his MLS debut just hours after signing with MLS, coming on to play the final 15 minutes vs. NE (5/14) ... Made his first career MLS start playing the first 87 minutes @ DC (5/17) ... Scored his first career MLS goal, the game-winner, in the 42nd minute of a 4-2 win vs. CHI (6/21) ... Solidified his position as a defensive midfielder for the Wizards, starting 11 of the final 12 games of the season. 2003 Playoffs: Appeared in two postseason matches for the Wizards, including a start in Game One of the Western Conference Semifinals @ COL (11/4).

Played indoor soccer with the Kansas City Comets (MISL) from 2000 through April 2003. As a defender, ranked fifth on the Comets in scoring during the '02-'03 season with 60 points. Named to the West All-Star Team as a starter in his first All-Star appearance ... Named to the NASL all-rookie team in 2000 ... Trained with D.C. United and the Chicago Fire before joining the Comets ... Prior to coming to the United States, Zotinca was a standout defender in the Romanian First Division (Divizia A) ...
